That’s Solent TV Interview: Portsmouth Pride 2015 [video]

During the weekend of Portsmouth Pride, 20-21st June 2015, That’s Solent TV (the local TV station for Portsmouth), invited me in to their studio to talk live on air about my darling Naz, the Naz and Matt Foundation and why it is so important for pride events like Portsmouth Pride to exist and continue to raise visibility of the LGBT community, diversity, and our fight for equal rights and acceptance.

After an absence of nearly 14 years, Portsmouth Pride made a comeback thanks to the hard work of David Lee-Bastable, the new Chair Of Portsmouth Pride, and Sponsorship Manager Mary Burgess who saw a need to celebrate the LGBT community and the diversity of the people that live in the area.

Matt set up the Naz and Matt Foundation in memory of his soulmate and fiancé, Naz, who passed away two days after being confronted about his sexuality by his religious parents. It was the first time that they knew their son was gay, in a relationship with Matt for 13 years and that they were planning to get married.
