This LGBT History Month feels different. In America, new laws are trying to erase trans people’s rights and stop work that helps make places fairer for everyone. This isn’t just an American problem – it affects all of us.

What’s Happening?

In January, America’s new president made some big changes. He said there are only two sexes – male and female. He stopped programs that help make workplaces fair for everyone. He’s planning to stop trans women from playing sports. These changes hurt real people in real ways.

Why This Matters

When we look back at LGBT history, we’ve seen this before. People have tried to make us hide who we are. They tried with Section 28 in the UK. They tried during the AIDS crisis. But each time, we fought back. We stayed strong. We wrote down what happened so we wouldn’t forget.

It’s Spreading

What happens in America often spreads to other places.

It was the first time that they knew their son was gay, in a relationship with Matt for 13 years and that they were planning to get married.
