Breakfast Television in Edmonton, Canada, host a video segment called DiverseCity during their morning show, which explores the lives and challenges of real people around the world.

The story of Naz passing away has impacted and shocked the community in Canada – the channel’s Ziyah Karmali reached out to Matt to speak to him about what it was like growing up with Naz, and to learn more about the Foundation setup in Naz’s memory to help other people who face rejection from parents before or after coming out.

Matt set up the Naz and Matt Foundation in memory of his soulmate and fiancé, Naz, who passed away two days after being confronted about his sexuality by his religious parents. It was the first time that they knew their son was gay, in a relationship with Matt for 13 years and that they were planning to get married.
